When you sponsor a student, you help your new friend finish school, you provide access to basic life necessities they didn’t have before, and you build a relationship with them by writing letters.
Basically, your sponsored friend has a chance for a more promising future, and you have the incredible satisfaction of knowing you helped make that possible.
It's such a cool way for you to make a difference with your life and learn more about life in another country at the same time!
When you select a student, you'll see the monetary amount they need to finish school. You commit to raising that money for them – you are their only sponsor. You can do it as an individual, or with a group (your high school Spanish class, your youth group, your cheerleading squad – whatever). Your minimum commitment is $30 a month. But remember, you can fundraise for all of it. You also agree to write to your friend at least twice a year to offer your encouragement, friendship and support, which really means a lot to them.
