Fundraising for a student
All we ask is that you commit to sending at least $30 a month until you raise the full amount.
When you sponsor a student, you will see how much money they need to reach their anticipated graduation date. Your goal is to raise the entire amount your student needs to finish school – you can make it your goal to do that all at once, but it’s OK if it takes multiple fundraisers.
Basically, your friend needs $30 a month, but let's say you have a fundraiser and earn $150. You could send in the $150, and that would cover the next 5 months for your student ($30 x 5 = $150). You would then have 5 months to keep fundraising until you need to send money in again. Get it?
We know you can do this – and it doesn’t have to be just you! Get your youth group together, your high school Spanish class, your cheerleading squad – anyone! How cool will it be to know that, because of your help, your new friend is offered a more promising future, and has a chance to overcome poverty?
